Here is another question of the sort us seaguys do to pass the time. None of us can get the answer. Except Duq, who already knew it—he tortured it out of a smart prisoner back when he was working for the vietcong. To torture us, he ain't telling. So, shipmates, give it some whacks. If nobody gets it, we'll have to torture it out of Duq.

Who’s Got The Whale?

This street’s got five houses. Each one’s a different color.
There’s a person of a different nationality living in each house.
The five owners drink a specific drink. They each smoke a specific kind of smoke and also have a specific pet (one large and unusual as a pet, but if that wasn’t the case, we’d have no story here, kids, so bear with it). No owner’s got the same pet, smokes the same smokes, or drinks the same drink.


The question: “Who’s got the whale?”


Here are some clues, if you don’t have a smart person to torture into coming up with the answer for you.

1. The British guy lives in the red house.
2. The Tortolan guys’s got a dog for a pet.
3. The Mexican guy drinks tea.
4. The green house is to the left of the white one.
5. The owner of the green house drinks coffee.
6. The person that smokes Pall Malls has got a bird.
7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Camels.
8. The person that lives in the middle house drinks milk.
9. The American lives in the first house.
10. The person that smokes cigars lives next to the one that’s got a cat.
11. The person that’s got a horse lives next to the one that smokes Camels.
12. The one that smokes reefer drinks Budweiser.
13. The German smokes Lucky Strikes.
14. The American lives next to a blue house.
15. The person that smokes cigars has a neighbour that drinks water.

P.S. Not sure how he got it, but Stupid George thought the answer was 446. That is wrong.
